The most popular car of American thieves!

In the list of the highest number of stolen cars, the F-Ford series is at the top of the table. According to figures released by the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), the number of stolen cars increased by more than 11 percent in 2020.

According to the report, the office annually compiles a list entitled “Hot Wheels”, which is in fact a metaphor for popular cars, in which it collects and analyzes information related to stolen cars. This information is provided to law enforcement agencies by law enforcement agencies.

As 2021 is not over yet, the latest report until the end of 2020 shows that this year the highest number of car thefts belongs to the F-Ford series with 44,014 units, which is an increase of more than 13% compared to 2019. Surprisingly, thieves are more interested in the 2006 pickup truck. Second place in this list of scandals went to the full-length Chevrolet van, although in this statistic, light and heavy models are not separated. The number of stolen Chevrolets in 2020 reached 40,698 units, which is a staggering 25% increase compared to 2019.

In other words, the Chevrolet Silverado has pushed the Honda Civic to third place. Car thieves prefer the 2004 Selverado. Third place went to Honda Civic, of which 34,144 units were stolen in 2020, a growth of only 2.8% compared to 2019, and the highest number of thefts is related to the 2000 model. Fourth, fifth and sixth place went to Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima, respectively. Another surprise is that the Accord is the oldest model in the list of the top 10 stolen cars in the United States. Simply put, thieves of the 1997 model prefer chords. The most stolen Altima in 2020 is the 2020 model.

Seventh place belongs to Jim C. Sierra and eighth place to Silverado with 13,016 units. In eighth place is the Toyota Corolla. In this case, too, thieves are interested in the latest technologies on the Corolla dashboard, and for this reason, they are stealing more 2020. Honda CR-V‌ is in the next category, whose theft has increased by more than 21.9% in 2020 compared to 2019. The tenth place is the Dodge / Ram van, the most stolen model of which is its 2001 model.

Of course, the office report above also lists the top stolen cars by state. In Alaska, for example, due to the winter cold and long frosts, Subaru models are in the top 10. In Michigan, home to three traditional American automakers, the Dodge Charger is a favorite of thieves. 755 Dodge Chargers and 94 Mitsubishi Mirages were reported in the state.

European cars, which have not been as successful as Japanese carmakers in the US market and, of course, have low sales, are not in the top 10. The last surprise in this news is that the most common reason for car theft in the United States is the placement of switches on the car.

The next piece of advice given to people to reduce the risk of their car being stolen is to leave your car in less dark and secluded areas. Installing an alarm, closing the steering wheel lock and pedal lock due to interference and delaying the theft process are usually effective. These days, installing a tracker also helps to find a stolen car. Doing all of these things together greatly reduces the risk of car theft.
