At the suggestion of Majid Takht-e-Ravanchi, Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, a joint statement was issued by Islamic countries to the Speakers of the UN General Assembly and the Security Council condemning the recent extremist groups in Sweden. The Holy Quran and the insult to the sanctities of the religion of Islam should be prepared and issued, and this proposal was agreed upon by the representatives of Islamic countries.

Khatibzadeh emphasized: “While holding the Swedish government accountable, we intend to react immediately, strongly and explicitly to this country in dealing with the perpetrators of this insulting action and to take clear and practical measures to prevent the repetition of such actions.”
In the end, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: “The action of the insulted person and his supporters increasingly necessitates the unity of Muslims and Islamic countries against the conspiracies of the enemies of Islam.”
