The reaction of the head of the cinema organization to the margins of a screenwriter’s comment – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

According to the Mehr news agency, quoting the program’s public relations, the closing ceremony of the 11th Revolution Cinema Festival and the Phoenix Cinema Award was broadcast live on Ofogh Sima on the evening of February 20th.

In this ceremony, while appreciating one lifetime of Jamal Shoorjeh’s artistic activity, the top 3 films of Fajr Film Festival were introduced and appreciated from the perspective of cinema progress.

Saeed Mazaheri, the secretary of this cinematic event, said at the beginning of the ceremony: 11 years have passed since the first days when the like-minded circles of Enqelab cinema began. We had a lot of bittersweet events during this period, but we always tried to bring together a group of elites with a focus on cinema.

He continued: “This year, the Revolution Cinema Circles started at the same time as the Fajr Film Festival.” Every day after the screening of the films, 3 online conferences were held and the present professors sat down to discuss the discourse of progress cinema. The process of our work was such that the general theme of the films was counted and professors were invited accordingly. The subject of each film was a platform to enter the main discourse of the festival, namely “Cinema of Progress”.

Referring to the re-election of this discourse in this year’s festival, Mazaheri said: “Last year we had the same discourse and some activities were carried out in this field, but it should be noted that this field has a lot of work to do and not much has been done so far.” The issue of discourse in cinema is an issue that cinema enthusiasts, whether those who agree with or disagree with revolutionary cinema, are interested in. In the new government, unlike the previous government, which tried to take the basic discourses out of the cinema, a good approach has been formed in the cinema, and you saw that even at the same time as the Fajr Film Festival, like-minded circles were held. Although this project was held for the first time this year, it was very successful.

The aim of the cinema organization is to support the cultural discourse of the revolution

The other guest of the closing ceremony, which was broadcast live on Ofogh Sima, was Mohammad Khazaei, the head of the Cinema Organization, stating: “The purpose of the Cinema Organization is to support the cultural discourse of the revolution and strengthen this front.” The Youth Cinema Association now seeks to identify young people who have the ability to make films across the country.

He continued: This year’s Fajr Festival was held only 2-3 months after the formation of the cinema organization in the new era. Naturally, the works in this period were pre-produced; Some of them were valuable and some of them were similar to the products we have seen in the past years. For this reason, we chose our executive method to strengthen the cultural discourse of the revolution, an example of which was the holding of like-minded circles. Undoubtedly, it is from the heart of these discussions and reflections that gaps are identified and futurisms are designed for the country’s cinema.

Referring to the importance of progress cinema, the head of the cinema organization said: “Certainly, cinema is the key to progress, but not in a Western style.” It can be said that Eastern style and context can pave the way for progress in our cinema. I mean, cinema can advance us by considering religious and revolutionary standards, and this is our situation as long as the Western lifestyle prevails in our cinema.

In another part of his speech about filmmakers who work against national interests, Khazaei said: “Unfortunately, some filmmakers have used national interests, but they make films against the national current of our country.” They make political statements abroad but live comfortably inside the country. It is true that in some cases we are silent in front of this body, but this does not mean that their professions are approved by us. They should know that in the new discourse that prevails in cinema, they must define their task with cinema.

He continued: “On the other hand, we have good filmmakers from different backgrounds who have a heart for this country and its people.” We must use these capacities and strengthen them. It was these artists who created works for this country and the Islamic Revolution from the beginning of the revolution; Therefore, we must appreciate our artists and manpower. Everyone who makes films in the path of the Islamic Revolution is respected; Those who won the award and those who did not. Movies like Anti, Hanas, Girls and… are respected.

The head of the cinema organization’s defense about the reactions to a screenwriter’s comment

The head of the cinema organization said about the aftermath of the festival and the events of recent days: “I am very happy that some friends, along with their concerns, gave remarks about the issue raised at this year’s Fajr Film Festival, although their information was incomplete.” For example, the woman who commented on religious issues was not a festival judge. Especially today, it was said all over the country that she was the festival judge, which is wrong. I believe that we should not get involved in religious issues unless we have enough information about it and explain it correctly. Among the 220 conversations at the festival, the lady made all the remarks, which of course she later apologized for.

In the end, he said: “We are trying to bring our cultural space closer to the religious space, and we request that if the authorities and scholars have an opinion, they must pass it on to us.”

Majid Ismaili was another guest at the closing ceremony and said: “Cinema and the Islamic Revolution is one of the important issues that we have not been able to address well yet.” All over the world, due to the deep impact of cinema on the audience, the seventh art has deep ties with its elite.

Appreciation for one lifetime of Jamal Shoorjeh’s artistic activity

An important part of the closing ceremony of the 11th Revolution Cinema Festival was dedicated to the appreciation of one lifetime of Jamal Shoorjeh’s artistic activity. Shurjeh announced in the studio of this program that he was under treatment and said: “I still have the effects of my illness and stroke.”

Shurjeh said about his activities these days: “I am working with Mr. Hatamikia these days.” He is an ethical and experienced filmmaker who knows the art of cinema well. In my opinion, he is one of the people who can be praised as the cinematographer of the year.

Mohammad Khazaei, the head of the cinema organization, who had come to pay his respects to Shoorjeh, said: “I had the experience of helping Mr. Shoorjeh many years ago.” He is a perfect example of a religious man.

Judge of Enghelab Cinema: We are concerned about the current situation of Iranian cinema

Seyed Mehdi Nazemi, the representative of the jury of the 11th Revolution Cinema Festival, said at the closing ceremony of this cinematic event: “This year, it was decided that the judging will be collective.” Accordingly, 80 elites and researchers in the field of humanities and cinema saw the films and were interviewed in writing or orally. These opinions were collected and presented to a 7-member jury, and they announced their final opinion by introducing the top 3 films this year.

He added: “The Phoenix Film Award has had and still has a leading view of cinema from the beginning, however, it must be acknowledged that we still have many problems in the country’s cinema.” The statement from the jury of this year’s festival, which will be made available to the media tomorrow, states that we are concerned about this cinema. This cinema is still not equipped for the development of Iran.

In the end, Nazemi said: “We had good films at the festival this year and the directors of the first work were good, but I believe that we are still a long way from progress in cinema.” Accordingly, in order to achieve serious cinema, we need to change the structure of cinema. The 40th festival was certainly promising, but it is still a long way from what it should be. Some of the movies gave the wrong address, which is not what we are looking for.

Appreciation of the top 3 films of the 11th Revolution Cinema Festival was the final part of the closing ceremony. Hanas, directed by Hossein Darabi and produced by Mohammad Reza Shafa, won third place.

Hossein Darabi, the director of this film, said at the end of Enghelab Cinema: “Making this film was a difficult task for us, because there was no written story and we had to tell the story ourselves based on the facts that existed.”

Mohammad Reza Shafa also said in a short speech: The story of the movie “Hanas” started from a concern. We wanted to tell a story that is the opposite of the usual genre of cinema, and when ordinary people see it, they can relate well to that work and the concerns of the characters. I think Hanas was a successful film and we had good reactions from the audience.

I had 4 films at the Fajr Festival, only one of them was seen

Criticizing the negligence of the Fajr Film Festival, Shafa said to his films: “Hanas was my fourth experience at the Fajr Film Festival. So far, I have had 4 films at the festival, only one of which was seen. For example, the movie “Seeing this movie is a crime” was not nominated in any section and its release was very difficult, but now that it has been released, I can tell you that this movie has become current and lasting. You see some movies that are no longer vital after the release, but watching this movie is a crime, it did not happen. Hanas is also a film that has life and it definitely creates flow.

The film “No Prior Appointment” directed by Behrouz Shoaib and produced by Mahmoud Babaei won the second place in Enghelab Cinema. Mahmoud Babaei and Mehdi Torabigi were the guest screenwriters of Ofogh.

Babaei said about the idea of making this film: “Mr. Shoaib and I are old friends and we always talked about such work with common concern in our meetings.” Finally, one of Mr. Mostafa Mastoor’s short stories caught our eye and this film was made based on an adaptation of it.

Pegah Ahangrani does not enter a project without belief

Regarding Pegah Ahangrani’s comments about the film, he said: “You all know that Ms. Ahangrani is not very good at interviewing, but in a recent interview she said that if she does not believe in a role, she will not enter the project.” He worked hard with the acting team and the production team, we expected this work to be seen but it was not seen.

Mehdi Torabobeigi also said about this film: Writing storytelling films is very difficult and challenging. In such a situation, it is important how the audience accompanies the story without ups and downs. I loved this challenge.

The film “Mahdi’s Situation” directed by Hadi Hejazifar and produced by Habib Valinejad, like the Fajr Festival, won the best film at the Phoenix Film Awards. Hadi Hejazifar, Habib Valinejad, Vahid Hejazifar and the set designer of this film were the guests of the closing ceremony of Enghelab Cinema.

Hejazifar said about this film: “Our eternal heroes are such unique men as Mehdi Bakri who we managed to turn his life into a film.” We tried to create a work that everyone could relate to with this approach and point of view. Making this film was hard work and complex in terms of performance, but we tried to make it as simple as possible.

The actors of “Mahdi Situation” played with their usual eleventh salary

The director of the film, Mahdi Mahdi, stated: “Since this film was made with the money of the treasury, from the very first day, we all promised that our red line would be to pay attention to the money of the treasury and prevent waste in vain.” We tried to design the sequences in a way that would cost less. In addition, all the actors in the film played in the film with their usual eleventh salary. Some days we worked in temperatures of minus 20 degrees, but all the children endured these harsh conditions. Of course, there were also scenes that we had to make to go down in history.

The actor who played the role of Martyr Mehdi Bakeri stated: The greatest novels and works are created after the wars because the war has strange effects. At the heart of the war are stories and heroes whose examples you can not see anywhere else.

In the end, referring to his collaboration with Mohammad Hossein Mahdavian in this film, he said: “One of the greatest achievements of the game in” Standing in the Dust “was that if a hero is introduced to the people, he can unite all masses of people.” The movie is Mehdi’s position for all the people of Iran.

Vahid Hejazifar, who played the role of Hamid Bakeri in this film, said: “The role of Hamid Bakeri was a complicated role for me, because most of the information about Mehdi Bakeri could be found and we had little information about the martyr Hamid Bakeri.” However, good information was found in the research that was done. I tried to show the oppression and kindness of Hamid Bakri, and on the other hand, the fact that he is a guerrilla when he enters the war can be seen in my play.
