The situation of Isfahan handicraft workshops is not in the dignity of artists / Isfahan artists’s insurance pursuit with urgency

According to Aria Heritage, citing the public relations of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Isfahan Province, Engineer Zarghami said at the meeting last night, December 9, 2014: “Unfortunately, the artists of the handicraft workshops are not in a good condition. “This situation is not in the dignity of artists and was not tolerable for me, so their problems should be addressed as soon as possible, because I believe that handicrafts are the manifestation of a resistance economy and can lead to economic prosperity in societies.”

The Minister of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts continued: “One of the urgent needs of artists in these workshops is the issue of insurance, which should be opened for Isfahan in the field of artists’ insurance in the ministry and this issue should be followed up urgently.”

He added: “Before starting my work in the ministry, I had several meetings with the representatives of the people of Isfahan in the Islamic Consultative Assembly and I was aware of most of the problems in this city, but the reason for my delay in my trip to Isfahan was the election of the director general. “Even considering that the general manager has not been elected yet, I came to Isfahan today because of the need to address the problems of this city.”

Zarghami added: “Another program that should be considered in the field of handicrafts is the creation of handicraft markets, which should be created as soon as possible with the desired quality and worthy of Isfahani artists. “Therefore, in addition to creating these bazaars in Isfahan, I intend to create these bazaars in all cities of the country so that Isfahani artists can present their magnificent works throughout Iran.”

He continued: “Isfahan’s cultural heritage and historical monuments are unique and need to be invested and allocated the necessary funds in the field of restoration. “Therefore, last night, in a private meeting I had with the esteemed president of the republic, it was decided to consider a significant budget for the restoration of historic buildings.”

Zarghami stressed in the field of investment: “If an investment with a credit volume of over one thousand billion wants to invest in three areas of cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts, I will personally pursue the problems and legal steps of his work and provide him with the necessary support, because “I believe that only our handicrafts can make the country 100 times more valuable than oil, but unfortunately we are behind all the countries in the region in the tourism industry.”

The Minister of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts stated: “Unfortunately, today, handicrafts have been removed from the people’s shopping cart, and we must take steps to apply handicrafts in families and also export them by creating a culture.”

“Isfahan has two independent works and two joint works out of a total of 26 tangible world registered works in the country,” he said. It also has many registered works in the field of intangible heritage, which should become a global brand in every city. “Therefore, with the help of members of parliament, solutions must be created to supply raw materials for handicrafts and get them cheaper to handicraft artists, because some of these raw materials have become very expensive and are not available to artists.”
