The time of initial public offering of Esteghlal and Persepolis shares on the stock exchange

According to Tejarat News, the head of the Privatization Organization announced the initial public offering of shares of Persepolis and Esteghlal on the stock exchange. When will the shares of these two clubs be offered?

Ghorbanzadeh stated in a TV program about the transfer of Esteghlal and Persepolis clubs: The problems of privatization in the country are not specific to these two clubs. Privatization itself is not important, but improving the quality of governance of government assets is desirable.
He added: “The privatization of any company needs to be considered and haste in it will determine what happens.” These two clubs are the heritage of Iran and they have a lot of fans, which doubles the importance of a proper transfer.
Ghorbanzadeh stated: “In the meetings we had with the Minister of Economy and the Minister of Sports, we are consulting to solve the problem of state ownership of these two clubs. By transferring Esteghlal and Persepolis, we are trying to improve the quality of their management.”
The official said: “There should be no doubt that the two clubs will be listed, because being listed means becoming transparent, but in order to offer the shares of these companies on the stock exchange, one must ensure their profitability.”
The head of the Privatization Organization said: “We will have the initial public offering of these two clubs by February, but this does not necessarily mean that all two clubs will be privatized and the transfer will not be complete.”
He specified: The real value of Persepolis Club in April of this year is estimated at 1800 billion Tomans and the value of Esteghlal Club is 1600 billion Tomans, which is now more than 2 thousand billion Tomans.
The head of the Privatization Organization said: According to the financial statements of 1999, Esteghlal has accumulated losses of 200 billion Tomans and Persepolis 150 billion Tomans.
Ghorbanzadeh stressed: “We must promise the AFC in the next three days that these two clubs will be listed until February and we will see the initial public offering of the two clubs by the end of February.”
The head of the Privatization Organization added: “One of the important incomes of these two clubs is the issue of television broadcasting rights, and until this issue is clarified, we should be worried about their transfer.”
Referring to the methods of managing clubs in the world, the Deputy Minister of Economy said: “The problem of handing over clubs to the people is the subject of club management.” The sole ownership of the two clubs must be reformed and the composition of their assemblies must be changed.
Regarding the transfer method, Ghorbanzadeh said: “Our proposal is that by February, the two clubs will be accepted by offering a 20% stake to the fans, but the money will be returned to the clubs themselves.”
