According to Fars news agency’s health group, Yunus Panahi, deputy research and technology minister of the Ministry of Health, stated that the three universities of medical sciences in Tehran, Shahid Beheshti and Tabriz ranked first to third in the ranking of the country’s universities of medical sciences in the Webometrics global ranking system that was published in January 2023 has been published, obtained, stated: In the period of January and July of 2023 and 2022, the ranking results of the country’s medical sciences universities in the Webometrics ranking system show that the three Tehran universities of medical sciences have climbed 17 places compared to last year. Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences ranked first with 26 places, and Tabriz University of Medical Sciences ranked third with 16 places.

He added: Out of 65 universities of medical sciences in the country, 86% of the universities have increased their rank in this ranking system.

The Vice President of Research and Technology of the Ministry of Health pointed to the global ranking indicators of Webometrics and clarified: the three main indicators are the measurement and ranking criteria, according to which the number of references or links established from other sites to the university site, the number of citations by 310 highly cited authors of the university in Google Scholar And the number of qualitative articles of the university placed among 10% of the most cited articles of the relevant subject is examined on the SCImago website.
