The White House reacts to the targeting of Abuha Airport by the Yemeni army


According to Fars News Agency’s International Group, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan on Thursday expressed anger over the targeting of Abha Airport in Saudi Arabia.

In a statement, the US government’s national security adviser strongly condemned the “attack on the Arabs in Saudi Arabia” for which “the Houthis have claimed responsibility.”

“We are committed to supporting Saudi Arabia in defending its people and our land against these attacks,” he added, as US President Joe Biden stressed in a meeting with King Salman of Saudi Arabia yesterday.

This morning (Thursday), the Yemeni drone unit targeted a key military base at Saudi Arabia’s Abha airport with a Kasef K2 drone, Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Yahya Sari said.

Announcing that the strike was accurate, he clarified that Abuha Airport is one of the airports used for military operations against Yemen.

Abha Airport, next to King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait, is one of the airports where most of the Saudi coalition airstrikes against Yemen are carried out.

In recent weeks, the Yemeni army and popular committees have launched several drone and missile operations against Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi in response to the ongoing war and siege of Yemen, and have announced that these operations will continue until the end of the Yemeni war.
