The press conference of the 15th Tourism and Related Industries Exhibition and the 35th National Exhibition of Handicrafts was held this morning, Tuesday, February 26, 2014, in the presence of Ali Asghar Shalbafian, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Pouya Mahmoudian, Deputy Minister of Handicrafts and Hassan Meysami, Director General of Public Relations and Information at the Fajr Hall.

“This exhibition has been planned with a supportive and specialized approach,” he added, referring to the damage done to tourism and handicrafts.

“Our effort has been to make the exhibition a meeting place for tourism stakeholders and for synergy and cohesion between provinces and types of tourism,” Shalbafian said.

Referring to the presence of municipalities and chambers of commerce in the provincial pavilions, he added: “The emergence of ideas, including environmental activities, has been another point of interest in this period. »

The presence of the university community and the unveiling of investment packages were other points mentioned by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, adding: “We emphasize that the days of the local exhibition should be to create coordination between the stakeholders in this field.”

“These days we are hosting business delegations from neighboring countries, both physically and virtually,” he said, referring to the allocation of space for B2B meetings.

In the end, the Deputy Minister of Tourism mentioned the holding of three categories of meetings entitled, workshops with a focus on creative people, joint meetings and sharing experiences, as well as expert panels with the approach of using the capacities of the private sector.

The exhibition is a new beginning for the tourism boom

“All the capacities in the field of tourism, cultural heritage, nature and museums are present in this exhibition,” said Fatemi, director general of the Office of Domestic Tourism Development, expressing hope that the exhibition will be a new beginning for the country’s tourism boom. “Specialized aspects of tourism, which had previously received less attention, have also received special attention in this period.”

“Other agencies, such as municipalities, have also been invited to sign memoranda of understanding during the fair,” he said, referring to the allocation of special booths for food and health tourism.

Holding workshops, tribal rituals and meetings, and the presence of 40 booths virtually were other points mentioned by Fatemi in this meeting.

The Director General of the Office of Domestic Tourism Development also mentioned the support of Engineer Zarghami for the presence of people who are less able to participate in the exhibition, and expressed hope that in the coming years, the field of cultural heritage will have a strong presence in the exhibition.

Explaining the support provided to tourism businesses, the Deputy Minister of Tourism explained: “During this period, the presence of tourism businesses in the exhibition has been facilitated, as well as the possibility of attending professional organizations and associations for free. “Communicating and addressing private sector problems with relevant government departments is another planned action.”

Links between businesses and foreign partners

“The main policy of the ministry is to facilitate, remove barriers to business and make inter-sectoral coordination,” Shalbafian explained. We have implemented this policy during this period by holding business meetings and femters hosted by eight provinces. “Also, all our efforts are to establish links between domestic businesses and foreign partners.”

Emphasizing the continuation of this policy, he added: “Attending a specialized exhibition in neighboring countries in the field of health and pilgrimage tourism, as well as coordinating with economic and cultural advisors to support travel services offices are other measures in this regard.”

Presence of trade delegations from neighboring countries

“Trade delegations from Pakistan, Turkey, Iraq, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Oman are present,” Shalbafian explained of the international section of the exhibition. “B2B meetings are also planned with the participation of companies from China and some European countries, especially in the field of health tourism.”

Supporting corona victims to attend the exhibition

“All provincial administrations have been instructed to allow corona victims to attend the fair,” he said, referring to support for tourism activists attending the fair.

Unveiling of the calendar of regional festivals

The Deputy Minister of Tourism also referred to the establishment of regional festivals and exhibitions for the development and prosperity of domestic tourism and said: “Merely holding the Tehran Exhibition does not compensate for corona damage. “The exhibition will be unveiled.”

Startups complement and help traditional businesses

“Our effort over the last four months has been to remove obstacles,” he said, referring to the provincial directorate for supporting startups. “We do not see startups as competitors to traditional businesses, but as complementaries and partners.”

The Deputy Minister of Tourism stated: “In this regard, we have taken action in the field of licensing and following up on other devices. Also, in cooperation with the Vice President for Science and Technology, financial support has been provided to start-ups. “Engineer Zarghami also emphasizes the entry of startups to offer new solutions in this field.”

Necessary arrangements and coordination with the Ministry of Interior for Nowruz trips

He explained about the management of planning for Nowruz trips: “The travel services headquarters of the provinces, except for five provinces, has been formed under the chairmanship of the governors. Appropriate arrangements have also been made in coordination with the Ministry of Interior. “A meeting of provincial general managers and the presence of some governors as government coordinators of the trips is also planned in the exhibition.”

Planning events with a specialized approach

Emphasizing the importance of holding a specialized exhibition, he added: “We definitely distinguish between specialized and private terms. “We believe that the measures displayed at the fair do not diminish the prestige of tourism among the people, which is why all the planning, including the provision of food to the provinces, has been done with a specialized approach.”

Unveiling of 20 investment packages in the field of forests

Regarding tourism investment packages, Shalbafian said: “We have prepared 20 investment packages in the field of forests with the coordination and proposal of the Forests Organization and the Environmental Protection Organization, and they will be unveiled in the form of booklets at the exhibition.”

The Deputy Minister of Tourism stated the absence of environmental problems and inter-sectoral issues as the main features of these packages, adding: “At the provincial level, provincial general managers also identify investment opportunities and present them at the fair. “Also, the use of Note 18 sources has been identified and introduced about 600 tourism projects with a progress of more than 70%.”

Shalbafian continued: “With the coordination of the Deputy Minister of Management Development, we have so far succeeded in attracting the financial resources of Note 18. “If the available funds are fully absorbed, we can ask the government to allocate funds for the reconstruction of tourism facilities.”

Shalbafian also referred to 283 projects that could be opened in 31 provinces in the Fajr decade, and Afroud: “Tourist guide insurance has found a legal basis, and we hope that this minimum demand will continue.”

He also announced the time of the exhibition from 8 am to 5 pm and in response to criticism about the time of the exhibition, he said: Strict adherence to protocols is an important issue to consider. “We also ask all those who come to the exhibition to follow the protocols.”

He expressed the hope that next year’s exhibition will be held in better conditions, taking into account all the offers and raising the corona.
