According to the Mehr news agency, quoting the Ministry of Labor Cooperation and Social Welfare, Hatem Shakerami said: “There are more than 5,500 mines in the country and about 90 mines are active in the field of coal, and extraction methods in more than 90% of these mines.” It is mostly traditional and almost unsafe.
The Deputy Minister of Labor Relations of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare said that the way to improve the safety of the labor force working in mines and increase productivity is to go beyond traditional methods and use new technology and added: Traditional helped in the extraction of the mines, and we hope that the Ministry of Silence and the High Council of Mines will also make a fundamental decision to make the mines safer.
“Unfortunately, some of the companies that own these mines think that if they hand over the work to the contractor, they are no longer responsible for the workforce, while these companies are concerned about the environment and affairs,” he said. Workers’ welfare is always committed.
Referring to Article 13 of the Labor Law, he said: “According to this article, the supervisory responsibility of the owner of the mine as a contractor in the transfer of activities to contractors will not be removed.”
Following the meeting, Ali Mozaffari, Secretary of the High Council for Technical Protection and Director General of Labor Inspection, while explaining the visit of the expert delegation visiting the Tabas Coal Mine, said: “Technology is a pillar of safety in workshops and in most developed countries.” Trying to reduce the effects of worker behavior is a matter of occupational safety, thus minimizing the link between human error in accidents.
Also in this meeting, the members reviewed the protection regulations for drilling hand wells. This regulation was approved by the Supreme Council of Technical Protection in 1985 and was revised according to the feedback that existed in the discussion of work-related accidents in the country, and after reviewing it in several meetings of the specialized committee, it was put on the council’s agenda.
