Two-time Emmy winner Andre Brewer has died at the age of 61


According to Fars Cinema Reporter, Brewer became a popular actor in cinema and television after his stunning role in the movie “Pride” directed by Edward Zwick in 1989. Then he played a role in the television movie “The Court Martial of Jackie Robinson” and then starred in the series “Murder”, an adaptation of David Simon’s book about a detective from Baltimore, which brought him an Emmy Award.

After this series, he joined Richard Gere, Laura Linney and Edward Norton in the movie “Old Fear” directed by Gregory Hoblitt and played a role in “Get on the Bus” directed by Spike Lee and the sci-fi movie “Frequency” by Hoblitt and in the series “Gideon Pass” played the role of an oncologist who trains young doctors.

Brewer won his second Emmy in 2006 for his role in the series “Thief”.

He played three seasons opposite Ray Romano in the series “Men of Destined Age” and then appeared in the role of Captain Ray Holt in the eight-season series “Brooklyn 99”. Brugger was nominated for an Emmy Award for both series.

Brewer was born in Chicago in 1962. He graduated from Stanford University and then studied at Juilliard.
