UNESCO assessors visit Bashjan Moshir Caravanserai



According to the report of Aria Heritage, quoting the public relations of the General Directorate of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts of Bushehr Province, Nasrollah Ebrahimi said on Thursday, October 13, 1400: “In this regard, they will soon visit the Moshir Caravanserai in Borazjan.”

Bushehr Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage added: “Iran is preparing a file for inclusion in the World List of Caravanserais, and UNESCO evaluators are visiting Iran’s caravanserais for technical evaluation and evaluation. The Moshir Caravanserai is one of the buildings to be evaluated by UNESCO observers.” . »

He stated: “The first step for the global registration of Moshir Borazjan Caravanserai is how to preserve the work, observe the rules of the area and its privacy and the commitment of local officials and citizens, which is very effective in the final result of UNESCO experts, therefore the role of NGOs. “The city, the municipality, the council and the governor are very important as local managers in this regard.”

“The presence of the local community alongside the officials helps to bring an important historical monument to its global attention in its true place,” Ebrahimi stressed.

He added: “The registration file of Moshir Borazjan Caravanserai, including the remnants of the Qajar period, has been prepared as the first file to be registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List in Bushehr province. If approved by UNESCO evaluators, the final report will be submitted to the organization “It can be done.”

Ebrahimi said: “Mushir al-Molk caravanserai in Borazjan is made of stone and has four porches in terms of architecture, which Mushir al-Molk Shirazi built and was the bridge between Bushehr and Fars.”

Referring to the cultural, social and economic importance of this historic caravanserai, he added: “After the construction of this caravanserai, a bridge was built over the Dalaki River as the” Moshir Bridge “and a communication canal between the city of Dalaki and Borazjan and the Khesht and Fars regions.”

The Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage of Bushehr Province continued: “This caravanserai has been constructed with an area of ​​6,300 square meters, and ostrich spaces, occasional exits for accommodation and special guests, have been seen on the upper floors of the caravanserai building.”

Ebrahimi pointed out: “This caravanserai has an honorable architecture in terms of architecture and due to the use of clean cut stones, rubble and gypsum mortar, and for this reason, it is eligible for registration in the world heritage.”

Bushehr Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage stated: “Registration of Moshir Borazjan Caravanserai in the world heritage for Borazjan city and Bushehr province will be useful and a ground for attracting a significant population of domestic and foreign tourists to visit this historical monument.”

He stated: “When a work is included in the World Heritage List, in addition to receiving support in terms of restoration and protection, this work is monitored every year and credits for its protection and restoration from the national credit and world heritage site. “It costs money.”

Moshir Borazjan Caravanserai is 150 years old with different uses related to the first and second Qajar and Pahlavi periods, which was registered in the list of national monuments in 1983 with the number 1638.

Borazjan city with a population of more than 100,000 people is the center of Dashtestan city and is located 65 km east of Bushehr on the Bushehr-Shiraz highway.
