He continued: “Currently, our shipping fleet carries export and imported products and we have no problem in terms of unloading and loading.”

The director general of the Ports and Maritime Organization, referring to the 12 percent growth in unloading and loading in the first eight months of this year, added: “We have seen growth in all port procedures compared to the same period last year.”

Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development added: “During this period, we have had a 30% increase in unloading and loading and 129 million tons of goods were unloaded and loaded in ports.”

He said: “After the revolution, very good activities have been carried out in Chabahar port, as the only ocean port in Iran, and the capacity has increased to 12.5 million tons.”

The director general of the Ports and Maritime Organization added: The performance of Chabahar port is currently 3.6 million tons. In the container sector, we have sometimes seen a decrease in performance in this port.

He added: “We are trying to expand the trade flow of goods from Chabahar port, considering that we have a good capacity in the port sector, negotiations are underway with the shipping of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the resumption of services to Chabahar port.”

Referring to the Iran-India agreement in Chabahar port, Safaei said: “We have not waited for a long-term 10-year agreement and we have followed a short-term agreement, however, in some cases we criticize the performance of Indians.”

“We will have a meeting with the Indians in the near future and we will try to resolve the issues,” he said. The Indian operator is trying to increase the traffic in Chabahar port and has done good marketing for it internationally.

The Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development said: China and India are friends of Iran and have cooperated with us in difficult times. The Chinese have cooperated with us more and it is natural that some issues will arise that we will resolve with understanding.

The Director General of the Ports and Maritime Organization, referring to the construction of 900 meters of wharf in Shahid Rajaei Port, said: In case of internal capacity to produce gate cranes, the Ports and Maritime Organization will fully support the internal capacity.

He said: “Every year, an average of 50,000 large ships enter the waters of Iran and then dock at ports and carry out unloading or loading operations.”
