Vitalik Butrin’s Twitter poll: Which currency, other than Atrium, becomes the world’s main currency?

Atrium digital currency creator Vitalik Butrin recently conducted a poll on Twitter, asking his followers to say which digital currency or currency other than Atrium has the chance to become the world’s major currency in 12 years. Interestingly, bitcoin is not ranked first in this survey.

To Report Crypto Slate, Vitalik Butrin, in an unexpected Twitter poll, asked members of the Atrium community which currency other than Atrium they want to dominate the market in 2035.

He wrote on his Twitter page:

This is a poll for members of the Atrium community. Imagine that you wake up in 2035 and 80% of all transactions and savings in the world are done with one currency. If this is not the Atrium currency, what other currency would you prefer it to be?

Initially, Cardano topped the poll with 42 percent of the vote; But with just eight hours left in the poll, Bitcoin took first place. Eventually, the result changed again, and surprisingly, Cardano took back his place from Bitcoin.

To conduct the poll, Butrin posted two separate posts on Twitter, each with four options.

The first post options were Bitcoin, Dollar, Solana and Cardano. The total number of people who took part in the poll was about half a million, and 43% of them voted for Cardano. Although many people thought that Bitcoin would take first place, the world’s largest digital currency came in second with 38% of the vote. Solana and the dollar came in third and fourth with 13 and 6 percent of the vote, respectively.

The second poll options were not so popular and Western audiences were less familiar with them. Theron, Baines Quinn, the Chinese Yuan and NEO were the options for the poll.

In the second poll, the number of participants was almost halved; But more than half of them (51%) voted for Theron. Binance Quinn came in second with 23 percent of the vote, followed by Neo with just one percent less (22 percent). Finally, the Chinese yuan came in last with 4% of the vote.

Although Twitter polls are inaccurate, one of the common features of both Butrin polls was that Fiat currencies came in last.

In 2016, Wired magazine called Butrin a strange and mysterious person; At a time when Atrium was first making its name as a worthy competitor to Bitcoin.

It is noteworthy that Butrin always creates a gap between the views of different groups. This is not only because of his programming skills, but also because of his strange behavior in dealing with social issues.

Michael Perklin, director of security at Ledger Labs, who has known Butrin for ten years, recounted a recollection of Butrin’s traditional approach and his opposition to government involvement in the economy.

He said:

I once saw him on a suburban train, and that day he was wearing girly socks. This same person is building the infrastructure that challenges the power structures of the world’s most important financial centers.

At the same time as the poll was published, Butrin asked Twitter users to share the strangest criticism they had ever heard from him. To begin with, he posted four tweets, one about his weight and the other three tweets about his resemblance to space creatures, gang members, and shooters that create chaos in schools.

If you pay attention to his humor and ability to joke with himself, you will find that asking such a question is not at all strange to him.
