War could change anyone / Holy Defense cinema needs to breathe new life

According to Fars News Agency, Mohammad Reza Iranmanesh (born May 28, 1967 in Jiroft) is an acting graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tehran, and has a master’s degree in directing from Tarbiat Modares University. He was born in 1346 in Jiroft in Kerman province. He got married in 1986 and in 1990 he received his master’s degree in directing from Tarbiat Moallem University. He is also a veteran of the Iran-Iraq war. He was involved in several operations and became a chemical warfare veteran in Operation Valfajr 8 due to inhaling mustard gas. According to a Fars cinema reporter, “Reza Iranmanesh”, a film and television actor, fell into a coma in the last days of April 2012, but regained consciousness on April 15. Iranmanesh has appeared in more than 60 movies and TV series. In 1372, he was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role at the 12th Fajr Film Festival for his role in the film Sajjadeh Atash. He is less active these days than before. In this report, we have conducted a short interview with Iranmanesh and listened to his concerns.
Reza Iranmanesh, in a conversation with a cinema reporter of Fars News Agency, said about his activities these days: “I have a few job offers that will start in a while.” I have also produced a 25-minute short work called “East” with a social theme that deals with situations of anger of people who do the wrong thing and regret it after doing it. In a way, in this film, we try to create a question mark in the minds of the audience that they have the best management in their lives in relation to being in critical and difficult situations. I intend to participate in this film in prestigious domestic and foreign short film festivals, and I hope that I will be able to take the audience with me, depending on the choice of the subject. Of course, I have been trying to make a comedy film called “Sepah Salar” for 19 years, but I have not been able to do it due to the lack of organizational support.
I asked Iranmanesh about films on the subject of sacred defense and war, and he said in this regard: In the last few years, I must say that we did not have much production on sacred defense, and this has been a declining trend, and we must see why the country’s culture and art They have taken a passive approach to this issue and should be asked why this issue has suddenly become very little as a concern of the country’s officials in recent decades. Even the collections that as a responsible institution in this field should play a serious role in the productions with the theme of sacred defense, we see that unfortunately no output comes out of it and there is only an unrealistic prospect of them in the minds of society when it comes to the flow. You get the dimension of reality that is nothing but zero output, which is really worth pondering.
The actor of Sajjadeh Atash continued: “How is it that series that have independent and approved annual budgets do not enter the production work not with me personally but also with other people, and we do not really see any output from them.” Of course, some series that have worked well in the past few years, such as the Farabi Foundation, Radio and Television, Fatah Narrative, and Hozeh Honari, have had a lesser approach to making and producing films on the theme of sacred defense in the last one or two years. 8 years has been one of the most important issues in all dimensions of the country, why should it be suddenly removed from the attention of related organizations and suddenly fade away.
The director of cinema and television pointed out that many aspects of the war and holy defense were not expressed and remained in the hearts of many fighters of that time and said: “When you sit and talk to many fighters of 8 years of holy defense, they have professions that no media And a film has not dealt with them yet and they are still new and can be seen in the form of a film, but this has not been achieved.
Even in this last decade, the discussion of the defenders of the sanctuary has a very high appeal of being a story that we have not dealt with so much.
The actor of the series “Men of Angeles” pointed out the stone-throwing that occurred in his career in referring to cinema organizations, and said: “I had several good scripts and plans in the field of sacred defense and social issues, which I referred to in many of these The claiming organizations, which also have very high budgets, received a negative answer, and this issue is very painful and hurts me, as a child of the same revolution and war, and who achieved martyrdom in this way without claiming it.
Iranmanesh continued: When a filmmaker goes to make a film about a war without asking for any financial help and only due to his personal capital and interest, he hopes that they will at least accompany him, but when, for example, he is hired in the Holy Defense cinema town or How to expect the filmmaker to move on to issues that double the financial burden of making his film, and the result is that these filmmakers prefer to grant the production. In the field of sacred defense works, he should focus on making more comedy and social films, which have far less sensitivities and costs for him.
He noted: “Our cinema, television and home network are limited to a few people in the role of actor, director and producer who rotate periodically and do not allow others to work. In my opinion, the dominance of relationships instead of rules has caused a kind of superficiality of stories and output of works, and it is a kind of game with the taste of the audience, which we are rejecting day by day.
The audience understands the difference between a good movie and a hit on the face, and we filmmakers need to understand that our audience is understanding and should not play with the audience’s consciousness.
I asked him about the change in the way he looked at the war that was dealt with in the expulsion films, and he said: As we see in the story of these films, and in the reality of the war, there were people who did not have very strong beliefs at first, but when In the conditions of the war and the casualties that took place there, this change occurred in them unknowingly. The religious atmosphere prevailing in the sacred defense could change any person and make him a more spiritual person.
