Wear and tear of the transportation system causes 60% of air pollution

According to the Fars news agency’s police reporter, Colonel Mohammad Razaghi, deputy director of traffic police operations in Greater Tehran, said on the Shahr Aman television program: “We must and definitely go towards modes of transportation that have less pollution and we see more efficiency from them.”

He added: We used to have electric buses in the city of Tehran, which were active in the main axes of these buses, which were unfortunately collected due to lack of updating.

Colonel Razaghi said: Currently, it is felt that new modes of transportation, especially rail trains, should be used.

The deputy of operations of the Greater Tehran Traffic Police stated: The advantages of using this type of transportation are much more, and this means does not pollute and does not occupy a lot of space in the city, and this means can be used.

He said: Clean fuel should be used in taxi traffic and electric taxis and motorcycles should be used.

Colonel Razaghi added: About 60% of the pollution in our city is due to the wear and tear of the transportation systems, which will certainly reduce the pollution of the city if the transportation situation improves.

He continued: Using taxis and electric motorcycles is a very good and suitable solution to reduce pollution in Tehran.
