Windows update disables Chrome!

The April Windows Update disabled a new button in Chrome, the world’s most popular web browser. This button allowed users to change their default browser with one click, but the worst thing happened to users of the enterprise version of Windows. For weeks now, every time Enterprise users open Chrome, the default Windows settings screen appears. There is no way to stop it unless the user uninstalls the firmware update. This situation has forced Google to disable the settings that made it easier to switch to Chrome in order to solve this problem.
According to Aetna from Isna, this chapter of the browser war began in July 2022 when Google quietly released a new button in the Chrome browser for Windows. This button appeared near the top of the page and allows the user to change their default browser with one click and without touching the system settings. The button worked great for eight months, but in April Microsoft released the KB5025221 update, and that’s when things got interesting.
After many similar complaints were posted on the Microsoft forum and the Google support forum, users quickly realized that the main culprit was an operating system update.
For users using the regular consumer edition of Windows, things weren’t so bad and only the “Default” button was disabled. Of course, Gizmodo managed to avoid this problem by changing the name of the Chrome application on the Windows desktop. Microsoft seems to have designed this barrier specifically for Chrome, which is the main competitor of the Edge browser.
Mozilla’s Firefox browser also has a button that changes the default browser with one click. Steve Teixeira, Mozilla’s product manager, said: This is not the first anti-competitive action by Microsoft in recent years.
According to Gizmodo, this is part of Microsoft’s pattern of waging war against non-Windows web browsers and the people who use them. Chrome is said to be the world’s most popular web browser with a 66% market share.
