5 Stressors in the Rice Market

According to Fars News Agency, the Rice Importers Association in a letter to the First Vice President warned against not notifying and timely implementation of the 1401 budget law, tasteless decisions without coordination with organizations and the consequences of these events and called for necessary forecasts in the field of imports of basic goods. شد. The letter states that these measures will lead to the closure of the rice trade and threaten the country’s food security.

The text of this letter states:

Respectfully wishing to accept obedience and worship, we would like to remind you that the following issues have threatened the rice import market and the country’s food security:

1- Failure to notify and implement the budget law of 1401 in the country’s customs so far.

1-1- In case of clearance of goods on account based on the year 1400, calculations are performed and commitment is taken from importers.

2- Impossibility of sale based on customs obligation, due to failure to calculate the cost price documented in the respected organization of consumer and producer protection and the cost price of 1401 inconsistent with the order prices of 1400 Jihad Keshavarzi.

3- Inability to keep the cargo in warehouses after clearance until the announcement of the cost price by the government due to suspicion of hoarding.

4- The possibility of not being cleared from customs due to demolition, the impossibility of storing in suitable spaces, the weather conditions in the south of the country, and especially the abandonment of cargoes by the esteemed organization for collecting and selling proprietary property.

5- Increasing the cost price of shipments due to the lack of government decision on the amount of commercial profit.

1-5- Even if the percentage is reduced from 6% to 1%, we will have at least one thousand Tomans based on Ets (exchange rate of 23,000 Tomans) in addition to the world price increase for each kilogram of rice.

Dear First Deputy, Do importers with this multi-unknown equation, where they can not be present and make decisions anywhere, have any choice but to risk clearance and incur losses for imported shipments and close the continuation of rice import trade?

The urgent proposal is the urgent decision of the esteemed government to reduce commercial profits Consequently, despite the opposition of this association to pricing due to the fluctuation of its constituents with the allocation of half currency, the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture and the Ministry of Silence to calculate the price and announce it based on global rice values and law The 1401 budget and government decisions to determine the amount of commercial profits and other legal increases should be taken as soon as possible in coordination with the private sector.

– If possible, help reduce the losses of importers by taking advantage of export and import laws and regulations for those importers who are at high risk in April 1401 and before the implementation of the budget law to import and supply The prices of the year 1400 are based on the official invoice announced in the system.

It seems that despite the delay of more than a month in the implementation and decision-making of government tasks and the possibility of no risk for imports that importers have so far accepted to regulate the market in April and the holy month of Ramadan, there is no choice but to import and close the sector. Private rice import industry is not conceivable.
