According to Fars News Agency, the punishment of a rural farmer from Despart in Khuzestan province was reduced by Islamic mercy in accordance with the law and he was released from prison.
According to the report, a case was filed in this court in June of last year against a farmer for allegedly breaking the windows of an air emergency helicopter, following a complaint by Ahwaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences and Health Services and Dehdez Health Network.
The helicopter was sent to transport a heart patient to an impassable area and had to land on the accused’s farmland.
Due to the absence of the accused in the court of first instance and appeal, the verdict was issued in absentia and after sending the case to the execution of the verdicts, the verdict of arrest of the accused was issued in June and the convict was sent to Ramhormoz prison.
At the request of the sentencing judge, the court that issued the final verdict convicted of destroying helicopter windows and applying Article 77 of the Islamic Penal Code was eventually sentenced to a reduced sentence.
In this regard, the total sentence of the convict was reduced to three months imprisonment and today the convict was released from prison.
