A tour of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts under the pretext of the beginning of the Fajr Visual Arts Festival


According to the Fars news agency’s visual reporter, the 16th Fajr Visual Arts Festival under the direction of Amir Abdul Hosseini has started its work on the 8th of Bahman with the display of famous visual works and the Mirror in Mirror section at Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts. Also, the Cultural and Art Institute of Saba will host the competition section (golden tuba) and art market from 10th of Bahman.

Old painters and designers in Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art are spectators of their works on the wall of this museum; Works whose creation goes back more than 50 years. 50 works in various subjects by prominent artists provide an overview of Iran’s artistic treasures.

With a tour of the exhibition, our eyes will see the oldest works; A painting created by Gholam Hossein Nami with oil on canvas in 1349. Bahman Borojni created a work titled Darvish in 1350, Hossein Zinda Roudi created an untitled work in 1351, and Abolqasem Saeedi created his brilliant work with the same title in 1351, so that the age of Iran’s artistic treasure goes back to the past 50 years, and these days are considered the oldest works. The 16th Fajr visual arts festival will last forever. Touring and focusing on these works may take hours, seeing all the beauty is not without grace.

Another part of the exhibition is dedicated to the mirror in the mirror section. A part that has been added to Fajr visual arts festival since the 14th period. In this section, the historical and fundamental aspects of visual arts during the revolution are displayed so that the viewers can be aware of the evolution of photographs, posters, etc. from the time of the revolution until today. In fact, it is the artistic research and performance of several years about the events of the last 45 years of Iran that is displayed.

Mirror in Mirror has been designed in 4 chapters, and until now, the review section of the paintings of the revolutionary era in the 30s and 40s and the photos of that time with the title (Tehran 57) have been displayed in the previous 2 periods. In the 16th festival of visual arts, attention has been paid to Islamic revolution posters.

Aine Dar Aine hosts 97 posters of 27 artists in this field. Abolfazl Aali, Morteza Mamiz, Mohammad Khazaei, Nasrullah Afjaei, Morteza Katouzian, Ismail brothers, Behzad and Kurosh Shihgaran, Mehdi Rouhani and Mohammad Ali Rajabi are well-known artists whose works have been displayed in this section.

Visual arts is the most extensive art whose many parts have led to the expansion of the number of artists in this field. Every year, the visual arts festival is held in Iran under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in February. This festival has started its work since 2007 in the competitive and non-competitive (side) section of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts, and new sections are added every year.

Competition branches in the festival started with painting, poster, photo, sculpture and caricature, and in the following years drawing, illustration, calligraphy, cartoon, painting and new media disciplines were added to it. In the competitive section, there are a total of 10 disciplines, and at the end of the festival, a golden tuba award is given to each of the disciplines.

According to this report, Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts will host artists and enthusiasts to visit these works until the end of February.
