According to Mehr News Agency and the Volleyball Federation, the Iranian national volleyball team passed the group stage of the Asian Men’s Championship with three consecutive victories against Hong Kong, Thailand, Pakistan and the lead in Group B, and after a break on the fourth day of the tournament, from Thursday Will be ready to compete with Chinese Taipei and South Korea in Group F.
Behrouz Atai expressed his satisfaction with the performance of his students in the group stage of the Asian Championship, regarding the last game of the preliminary stage, saying: “The game against Pakistan was important to us because it was considered as a group game.” From the first day, we entered the tournament with the attitude that after playing the first three games of the group stage, we could get a correct evaluation of the team, which also happened.
He added: “Pakistan was a better team compared to Hong Kong and Thailand, and it is natural that it put more pressure on the Iranian team.” We also tried to control the game by getting out of the pressure. During this game, we used the players in different ways and finally we got a good evaluation of the team. I hope the look we had helped us to perform better against our competitors in the second round of the competition.
Referring to Iran’s opponents in the second round of the competition, the head coach of the national team said: “Chinese Taipei and South Korea are fast and ball teams.” So against these two teams we have to find a way to disable these two strengths. In total, I am satisfied with the three games played in the group stage, and although there was not much pressure on the Iranian team against the three teams of Hong Kong, Thailand and Pakistan, we looked at it as a preparatory game.
