Regarding her father’s visit to Gaza in 1959, Alida explained that he had taken the love of this revolutionary fighter for Palestine from his father’s personal notes to his mother.

He went on to express his love for Palestine, calling it a representative of history, a geography, a country, a people and a nation.

Che Guevara added that the United Nations once thought it could use part of the Palestinian territory to cede it to Israel. “Israel wants to occupy not only the land of Palestine but the whole of the Middle East.”

“This solidarity is not only possible by raising our voices, but we must extend our hands to support our comrade in time of need,” he said, stressing the need for solidarity with Palestine. “We must practice this special solidarity with the Palestinian people.”

“Iran, Syria and Lebanon are the only countries in the Middle East that have taken the right position on the Palestinian issue and have maintained that position,” Alida said. “It seems that other countries are resorting to a solution.”
