Collective appeal to peace activists for immediate lifting of sanctions on Iran

According to the statement, the sanctions have resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent people, damaged vital infrastructure projects and social programs in the country, prevented their realization, and inflicted immeasurable suffering on Iranian society.

Peace activists have said in a statement that, in clear violation of the UN Charter, Iran and Iranians have always been the target of terrorism by Israel and the United States and the threat of military action.

The statement added: “The dominating powers, in order to put pressure on Iran to bypass its security and surrender its national independence and sovereignty, have continuously abused the negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program.”

The signatories of the statement, addressed to the UN Secretary-General, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the presidents of the member states of the nuclear deal, called for the unconditional return of the United States to the IAEA – signed in 2015.
