Colorful presence of the art field in Fajr Film Festival

Fars News Agency, Cinema Group: “Girls’ Group”, “Anti”, “Constellation” and “Shadoran” are the four films of the Soureh Hozeh Honari Cinema Organization in the 40th Fajr Film Festival. The works that indicate that this institution, unlike previous years, has left for the Fajr Festival with full hands.

The 40th Fajr Film Festival will be held in February, and after two years of closure, it is hoped that it will be able to restore prosperity to cinemas. The 40th festival, however, is supposed to be different from previous years. In this year’s festival, Hozeh Honari, which has not had a strong record in cinematic productions in recent years, has been screened with four films, two of which have been produced in collaboration with the Farabi Cinema Foundation.

“Girls’ Group”, “Anti”, “Constellation” and “Shadoran” are four films that will participate in the Simorgh Soda section of the 40th Fajr Film Festival. A closer look at these four films reveals that this year the art field has tried to bring works with different themes and genres to the festival. This issue becomes more apparent when two of the four films of this year’s Surah Cinema Organization have a theme about women.

Women and the issues surrounding it are among the subjects that have received less attention from filmmakers. But two films, “Girls’ Band” and “Constellation”, are trying to break this trend at this year’s All-Men Festival. A festival that has always been criticized for not having a good place for female filmmakers or women.

However, at the 30th festival, three films, “Ablaq” directed by Narges Abyar, “Hypothetical Line” directed by Farnoush Samadi and “Titi” directed by Aida Panahandeh, represented women in Iranian cinema; But this year’s festival will only host one female filmmaker.

A group of girls A story of women in Khorramshahr

“Girls’ Group” and “Constellation” by Munir Gheidi and Hossein Darabi are both his second works; Just like the other two works in the field of art, “Anti” directed by Amir Abbas Rabiee and “Shadruvan” directed by Hossein Namazi. With these choices, Soura Cinema Organization shows that it is looking for an investor in young people with experience in Iranian cinema.

“Girls’ Band” has a sacred defense atmosphere and its artistic field has been created in collaboration with the Farabi Foundation and produced by Mohammad Reza Mansouri. The film has a heroic reading of the presence of Iranian girls in the early days of the war. A subject that has received less attention in the works of this genre. The important and sensitive role of women in this period is an issue that Qidi has already emphasized in her film.

The first director of Big Female Production in Iran

Munir Qidi, who has the acclaimed film “Villas” in his repertoire, is the narrator of women’s resistance and self-sacrifice in the first turbulent days of the war in “Girls” and has created the first cinematic image of the Khorramshahr resistance with a feminine look. Qidi is the first Iranian female filmmaker to direct such a large project.

Niki Karimi, Pantea Panahiha, Fereshteh Hosseini, Hoda Zineh Al-Abedin and Sadaf Asgari play the role of a group of girls in this film. Hossein Soleimani, Yasin Masoudi, Mohammad Sedighi Mehr and Mehdi Hosseininia form the complete cast of this work.

The second work of the director of expediency film in this year’s festival

The second film of Soura Cinema Organization with a female perspective is the film “Constellation” directed by Hossein Darabi and produced by Mohammad Reza Shafa. A film in the social drama genre that looks at the inflamed period of the nineties of Iranian society with a feminine look. The constellation is Darabi’s second work after the acclaimed work “Expediency”. The film that won the Diploma of Honor for Best First Director at the previous festival for Darabi.

The film is written by Ehsan Saghafi and Mahdieh Einollahi and is a kind of narrator of the life of a woman who sees her life on the verge of collapse. Behrouz Shoaib and Merila Zarei are the main couple in this film and they are accompanied by Vahid Rahbani, Siavash Tahmourth, Solmaz Ghani, Amin Miri, Alireza Naeini and young actor Kosar Heydari in “Constellation”.

Anti-Shadouran and other works of art in the 40th festival

The third film of Soura Cinema Organization in the 40th festival is “Anti” directed by Amir Abbas Rabiee and produced by Mohammad Reza Shafiee. A political drama that has made the inflammatory events of the early days of the Islamic Revolution its subject. Rabiee, like Qidi and Darabi, has brought his second cinematic experience to the festival. His previous film, “Personal Clothing,” was critically acclaimed at the time.

Hossein Namazi, who entered the field of cinema with the film “Appendix”, will also face his rivals this year with the film “Shadruvan”. “Shadruvan” is a social drama with a sweet and family theme. In this film, Namazi tries to show solidarity within Iranian tribes and families in times of trouble, while setting the stage for a legal problem. The Cinema Organization of the Arts Center has produced this film in collaboration with the Farabi Cinema Foundation.
