According to Mehr News Agency, Hassan Sharbatdar stated: Prevention and control of high-risk behaviors and social harms in the student population is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Education and the Deputy Minister of Education and Culture.

He continued: “One of the programs that was presented in order to prevent social harms is the” National Symbol Plan “. The national line “Symbol” (No. 1570) as one of the annexes of the national program “Symbol”, is now active throughout the country. This line has three sections of guidance, counseling and social work that students, schools and families can call this number and receive the necessary advice for free.

Syrupdar added: Contacts with the national line “Symbol” generally include three categories; Guidance on students ‘academic problems, counseling on students’ mental health problems, and help with student psychosocial emergencies. Through this daily line, of course, except for holidays, the experts of the nuclei and educational counseling centers, with different specialties of counseling and social work, are ready to provide specialized services from 8 to 20 o’clock and answer the calls.

The head of the deputy for education and culture pointed to other services to prevent social harms to students and noted: In schools where the presence of a counselor is not possible for any reason, the mechanism of the counselor’s message has been foreseen. Education based on the announced policies and understanding the psychological needs of students and parents, while prioritizing the submitted content, will be immediately available to students and parents on an ongoing basis.

He added: “The voice of the counselor is one of the other activities of the deputy for education and culture in reducing the social harms of students.” Therefore, due to the outbreak of the Corona virus and the closure of schools, the need to follow up and reduce the psychological and social damage of this crisis is felt more than ever in the country. Accordingly, by deciding to establish counseling bases in the form of counseling voices, psychologists are working in person and in absentia across the country and through continuous communication with school principals and introducing themselves as a core member of the core to this important work. They take action.

Sharbatdar referred to the “Empathy” project and said: “In this project, school counselors are in constant contact with students and their parents and are informed about the educational, psychological and educational issues of students and provide the necessary guidelines.”
