Greetings from afar / Arbaeen Hosseini Day

Life group: This year, only a few people succeeded in attending the Arbaeen walk and the pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (AS) on this dear day. For those who are left behind from the pilgrimage, the dhikr and recommended actions for this day have a different atmosphere. An atmosphere in which one of the prayers surely seeks the success of the pilgrimage for the coming days and years.

In this article, a selection of the deeds of Arbaeen has been collected for the lovers of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and Imam Hussein (AS).

Pilgrimage bath

Introduction Each of the recommended religious practices is ghusl. A religious ruling that purifies the body in appearance so that the purification of the body is a prelude to the purification of the soul from impurity. It is narrated from Imam Sadegh (AS) that he advised one of his companions to take a bath in the waters of the Euphrates before visiting Imam Hussein (AS). He quoted the Prophet as saying: “My son Hussein, after me, will be killed along the Euphrates. Whoever visits him and bathes on the Euphrates, sheds his sins and becomes like the day his mother gave birth to him.” »

Now that it is not possible for us to perform ghusl on the Euphrates, we will follow the ghusl at home and the rest of the pilgrimage recommendations remotely. As it is recommended in the book of Mesbah from Shi Tusi and quoted by Imam Sadegh (AS) that during the ghusl of pilgrimage for Imam Hussein (AS), this prayer should be recited: Healing from all the food and the plague and the plague and the fear of God is pure in the heart and the explanation is in the heart and in God is with God. May God make this prayer enlightening, purifying, preserving, and healing from every pain, disease, plague, and injury. “God, cleanse my heart with it, and open my breasts, and make my work easy with it.”

Beauty and fragrance

Although we are mourning and grieving on the fortieth day of the martyrdom of our gentleman, but reaching him and visiting the Infallible Imam, whether in person or from a distance, requires observance of etiquette such as cleanliness and fragrance.

Those who travel for several days to reach the shrine of Aba Abdullah, and those who walk this route, it is better for them to take a bath, wear clean clothes and be fragrant before arriving at the shrine. This recommendation is also applicable to attend any assembly with the title of Arbaeen Hosseini Day mourning.

Of course, it is also stated in other narrations that a pilgrim who comes to the service of Aba Abdullah should be barefoot on the way to the shrine to show the width of his will to him.

Dhikr and Tasbih

During the pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (AS), it was said that before reaching the shrine, we should say “La ilaha illa Allah” one hundred times and send Salawat one hundred times. In the following, it is recommended that we say to the grave and court of the Infallible Imam: “There is no god but God, and there is no partner for Him.”

Forty pilgrimages

The Arbaeen pilgrimage is a relatively short prayer, which is described in Mafatiha al-Jannan. This day, the twentieth of the zero month, according to the narrations of Sheikh Mufid and Sheikh Tusi, is the day when the family of Imam Hussein (AS) as well as Jabir ibn Hayyan return to Karbala and visit the holy bodies of the martyrs buried by one of the tribes of Bani Assad.

It has been narrated from Imam Sadegh that when a significant part of the day arises, we should recite the Arbaeen pilgrimage. At the end of this pilgrimage, we pray two rak’ats and ask for help.

The second pilgrimage is also narrated from Jaber Ibn Hayyan and it is the same pilgrimage of Nimeh Rajab.

Arbaeen farewell pilgrimage

This pilgrimage is narrated from Sayyid Ibn Tawus and its description is available in Mafatiha al-Jannan.

The forty-third prayer of Sahifa Sajjadieh

Reading the forty-third prayer of Sahifa Sajjadieh 10 times in the zero month has many rewards. It is recommended that this prayer be recited on the fortieth day.
