Mehrnia: “Carvia” is tied to knowledge-based companies / Production of a product or service is the first condition to participate in the program

According to a Fars News Agency radio and television correspondent, the first season of the “Karvia” TV contest, with the aim of identifying and supporting the competitive advantages of knowledge-based, will be broadcast on Mondays and Tuesdays at 11:00 PM on the One Sima network.
This program is directed by Mehdi Mehrnia, and you can read the text of Fars’ conversation with him below:
Where did the idea for Carvia come from and what was its construction philosophy?
In fact, Carvia’s initial idea was to produce a TV series to introduce Iran’s economic opportunities. Knowledge-based is tied, so we went to these companies in collaboration with the Presidential Innovation and Prosperity Fund. This is where Carvia was born.
* Entrepreneurship-themed competitions have already been made on TV a lot, and the most important one is “Maidoon”. What arrangements did you make to see a completely different program?
-As you said, many entrepreneurship programs have been made and broadcast on TV, but all of these programs, such as Maidon, Karsaz, Shetabshu, etc., are all a kind of competition for entrepreneurs, most of whom have not yet passed the acceleration stage, and In fact, these programs were mostly looking for interesting ideas and designs, and successful companies were not present in their program, in fact, these kinds of programs are more like an accelerator or an innovation factory. Carvia, however, has a different nature, we at Carvia were not just looking for pure and original ideas, that is, designs that were just ideas or their product was not ready could not be present at Carvia. The production of a product or service was the first condition for our program, the second priority of the program was to be a knowledge-based company, although we also hosted a small number of good startups. Structurally, because we do not have a successful and attractive history in this type of programming in Iran, so we have used the most successful program that has been developed for years and made in several different countries as an example program, and with changes in the structure and content of Carvia We built. Structurally, the most important feature of Carvia was the use of elevators within the program, which is well known in the technology and startup ecosystem. This presentation method also gives viewers the opportunity to judge by giving equal time to teams to introduce their products.
* Carvia is produced in design and production with a focus on two different areas. The first part deals with companies active in the field of innovation and the second part is the structural attractiveness that persuades the audience to participate in the selected platform design. What were your plans for balancing these two sections?
– Carvia is one of the few direct interactive programs (apart from telephone competitions) made on Iranian television, meaning that the audience of the program is not only the viewer, but also has a direct participation in the process of success or non-success of the program. To give an example, the winning company in one of our programs was funded in less than 12 hours. This event has a direct message, in these difficult economic conditions and low trust of people in the Iranian financial markets, this company has been able to attract the trust of the program audience, which is a very lucky and good event for Carvia.
* By broadcasting the last episodes of Carvia’s contest, how much do you think the audience has related to your main goal?
You see, from the beginning we tried to fully identify the audience of the program, that is, we did not come to produce the so-called program for the general audience, so we had several meetings with elders and scholars of innovation and startup ecosystems in Iran. Build an audience interested in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship and startups. Naturally, given the volume of investments made in the winning projects, Carvia has been able to achieve its main goal, which is the trust of the audience in knowledge-based companies.
* What feedback did you get from knowledge-based companies active in the field of technology?
– Carvia is perhaps the first daring program on Iranian television that promotes Iranian knowledge-based companies and their achievements without any restrictions, no reportage, no commercials, all their strengths and weaknesses will be reviewed by the judges of the program. Most carvia participants who contact me are happy that they are being paid for the first time at a media level such as television, and are more optimistic about their work. This hope is more important than anything for Carvia’s production team.
* What was the most important challenge for you and the production team to build Carvia?
You see, when you make a plan for a knowledge-based and technology ecosystem, you naturally encounter a large number of educated and successful people who can not easily accept failure. This was our first and perhaps most important challenge before the program began. How to tell a person who is an entrepreneur and a knowledge-based company that you did not provide a good elevator and the judges did not give you permission to enter the main studio of the program. Well, the first condition of our program was that the judges should treat the participants rudely and with the usual considerations. But when the program started, everything changed, this amount of sobriety was unbelievable for us at all, I can safely say that Carvia made a good memory for all the actors and participants in the program. But the most difficult challenge we faced while producing the Carvia was the rise of the corona, so the manufacturer rented a very large space to produce this program to ensure that equipping this space and making the decor was time consuming and costly. It was Berry.
* Will the next seasons of Carvia be made as well? And how will the structure of the next seasons change compared to the first season?
– I hope that the next chapters of this program will be made, because programs like Carvia will find their own audience over time and have their own impact on society. Naturally, not continuing this kind of program like planting a sapling without irrigating it Carvia will definitely have changes in the next season, this was the first season of the program, and naturally after the broadcast, after determining the results of the polls, the strengths and weaknesses of the program will be identified and we will try to eliminate the weaknesses and strengthen the strengths. .
* It was an idea that you really wanted to implement in the first season, but it did not materialize, and what was the reason?
– I am really grateful to the producer of the work, Mr. Ahmad Shafiei, and the deputy producer, Mr. Ali Khosravi. The company of these two people was really unique and complete. Due to the large size of our country, the only thing that could not be done was to introduce the workshop or factory of all the participants in the program, which was naturally not possible.
