Ministry of Communications program to attract foreign users to Iranian messengers



Issa Zarepour, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, in a meeting with the members of the Industries Commission and the deputy of the Islamic Council, referring to the various actions and projects of this ministry in the 13th government, said: National Information Network, fiber optic project for homes and businesses, the national window of government services Smart, the development of the space industry, the development of rural communications and the support of domestic messengers are among the priorities of the government’s programs in this period.

According to Aetna’s report from Mehr, the Minister of Communications mentioned the provision of 3,000 services by government agencies in the window of the service unit and said: With electronic and smart services, people can communicate with the entire government through one channel.

Zarepour pointed to the activities of domestic messengers and their development and said: We have a plan that by supporting domestic messengers, they can provide the best services to the dear people and be favored by foreign users as well.

The Minister of Communications also mentioned the activities of the space sector and announced: We have launches in our program this year and this year will hopefully be a fruitful year for the country’s space industry.

Regarding the concern of the representatives in the field of preserving people’s data in internal platforms, he added: The bill for the protection of users’ data in the cyberspace has been finalized in the Ministry of Communications and will soon be sent to the parliament after the government’s review. The bill also resolves people’s concerns in this area.

In this meeting, Mustafa Taheri, the head of the Parliament’s Industries and Mines Commission, also mentioned the issues of developing rural communications, the strict implementation of the National Data and Information Law, the bill to protect people’s personal data and the smart government as the demands pursued by this commission.

In the continuation of this meeting, the members of the Parliament’s Industries and Mines Commission also raised issues such as speeding up the national information network, developing fixed communications, developing virtual training, ensuring the security of people’s information in internal messengers, and developing and increasing the quality of rural communications.

Also, a number of managers of companies and organizations affiliated to the Ministry of Communications also presented a report on the actions taken in their field of work.
