In a conversation with Mehr reporter, Mohammad Ali Makrami, referring to the general trend of marriages in Yazd province in the last 50 years, stated: The number and general rate of marriages in the province at the end of the nineties, i.e. in 1400, compared to the beginning of this decade, i.e. in 2010, decreased by half. has been found

He said: According to the latest reporting conducted in the middle of June this year, 5 thousand 971 marriages were registered in Yazd province last year, which number was 11 thousand 683 in 2013.

Makrami added: In addition to the economic problems and livelihood bottlenecks in the 90s, the most important reason for the decline in marriage is the mass marriage of young people from the 60s to the beginning of this decade and the decrease in the marriageable age population.

The director general of Yazd province continued: Last year, the average age of men at marriage was 29.4 years, which has increased by 2.4 years compared to the same period of the previous year.

He said: Last year, the average age of women at marriage was 24.5 years, which has increased by 3.1 years compared to the same period of the previous year.

Makrami stated: In 1401, 16 sweet marriage events were recorded every day and night, which is equivalent to two marriages every three hours.
