Sardar Soleimani, the hero of the fight against international terrorism

At dawn on January 3, 2020, Sardar Soleimani and his entourage were killed by American drones as soon as they left the Baghdad International Airport compound.

The US terrorist attack on Martyr Soleimani and his entourage, in addition to violating the rules of international law and human rights, is also an act of aggression against the sovereignty of the Iraqi government. This criminal act by the US government has provoked widespread reactions and condemnation at the formal, informal and popular levels. For example, the Special Rapporteur of the UN Human Rights Council in his report explicitly stated that the US attack on Sardar Soleimani and his entourage was illegal.

Sardar Soleimani has been a “hero in the fight against terrorism” and much of his brilliant record at the regional level has been in the field of international terrorism. A terrorist attack on a person who is at the forefront of the fight against international terrorism is a clear and practical example of the application of the “double standard” and the lying of the claimants of the fight against terrorism.

The outstanding characteristics of Sardar Qassem Soleimani from an individual and human point of view, his abilities in terms of military command and management, his strange genius in the strategic field and his role in peacebuilding in the region, make him one of the most prominent and well-known military commanders. But in spite of many of the outstanding characteristics of this prominent figure, perhaps the greatest characteristic of Soleimani can be considered his continuous and effective support of the oppressed against the oppressor, his resistance to the US-led world domination system and his opposition to the Zionist regime.

With a practical commitment to the original Islamic teachings and values, Soleimani considered defending the oppressed against the oppressor and supporting the currents of resistance against American domination and the occupation of the Zionist regime as his most important duty. And religion did not matter. Soleimani’s commitment to preserving the dignity of human beings, regardless of race or religion, and the practical implementation of international humanitarian law is exemplary, and there is a wealth of written and documentary evidence in this regard. Sardar Soleimani’s role in supporting religious and racial minorities in Iraq and Syria (including Yazidis and Christians) against the crimes of takfiri groups is a prime example of Soleimani’s morality and practice in supporting the oppressed against the oppressor. According to friend and foe, Soleimani is the hero of the fight against ISIL and Takfiri groups, and he played the key role in supporting the Iraqi and Syrian nations against the evil current of ISIL and preventing the two countries from falling into the hands of ISIL and Takfiri terrorists.

The decisive and simultaneous role of Sardar Soleimani in Iraq and Syria

Before his martyrdom and in the last decade of his life, Sardar Soleimani played a decisive role in the equations of the region with his blessings, including:

– Prevent the fall of the legitimate governments of Iraq and Syria and prevent the disintegration of these two countries, which, if realized, the dangers and the resulting effects could affect the entire Middle East region.

– Direct field and operational fight against ISIL and international terrorists

– Supporting the people under the attack of terrorists and helping the besieged and displaced people

Soleimani, on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was the first military commander in the world to reach the depths of dangerous fields at the request of the Syrian and Iraqi governments. The military grounded the US-backed Takfiri terrorists and finally announced the end of ISIL’s ominous caliphate with the liberation of Mosul, Iraq.

Soleimani was the beacon of unity of action and field cohesion among the defenders who came out to defend the territorial integrity of Iraq and Syria and to prevent the formation of the ISIL caliphate and to support the oppressed nations of the region. Undoubtedly, he rendered the greatest service to the nations and governments of the region and even the supra-regional governments and nations, including Europe, and prevented the establishment of the evil caliphate of ISIL and the expansion of its sphere of influence and operations to all parts of the world. In a short but profound sentence, according to Ayatollah Khamenei, the supreme political and religious leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Soleimani was the “international face of the resistance.”

Sardar Qassem Soleimani was a “man of peace” before he was a “man of war.” He was not a person, but a symbol of a school of thought that believed that the only way to prevent American domination and Zionism over the fate of regional governments and nations was to unite them, so Soleimani attached strategic importance to the authority of regional nations.

From the US government’s point of view, with Soleimani, the advancement of the deal of the century and the blowing of the compromise process faced serious obstacles, so the US government is not only the most prominent global figure in the fight against international terrorism, but also the mastermind of countering Zionist domination. He assassinated Islamic and Arab countries. The US government’s assassination of Soleimani and his martyrdom was not an attempt to kill a person, but an attempt to unravel the mystery and manifestation of anti-American-Zionist thinking, and of course such a crime was a strategic mistake along with dozens of other US strategic mistakes in the region. And it was the world. Because with the assassination of Soleimani, his school and thought will not lose its permanence and dynamism, but now it has taken on a more global dimension.

The passage of time and the confessions of some US officials have shown that many terrorist and takfiri groups, including ISIS, have been targeted by the United States in order to change the strategic equations of the region, create a breathing space for the Zionist regime and incite bloody wars. Religions have been created in the Islamic world. Such shameful acts naturally carry the international responsibility of the US government and its officials, and they must be held accountable for all the catastrophes and damages that have occurred as a result of these actions in the region. The criminal assassination of the commanders and commanders of the fight against ISIS and terrorism in the region was in fact the revenge of the terrorists against these commanders, which was carried out by the criminal Trump, the then President of the United States.

Despite the passage of Iraq and Syria through the difficult period of crisis and the defeat of the dream of the ISIS caliphate, unfortunately, takfiri, anti-human, terrorist thoughts and overt and covert support for these thoughts continue, and the international community needs to be vigilant against the ideological spread and re-empowerment. Takfiri ideology and terrorism are a threat to international peace, stability and security, and it is the duty of all members of the international community to combat it. It is no secret that the United States has a destructive presence in the West Asian region, and that it will not be stable and secure until it withdraws its terrorist forces from the region.

It has been two years since the assassination of Sardar Soleimani and the commanders of the Islamic Resistance. Certainly, this crime has not gone unanswered, and the perpetrators of this inhuman crime must be tried and held accountable in the court of justice. Widespread public reactions around the world, as well as the reaction and announcement of the position of many international political and legal figures condemning the US criminal act of assassinating Sardar Soleimani and his entourage, clearly showed that the US is first and foremost a court of conscience. Global Awakening is doomed. Nevertheless, the Islamic Republic of Iran will officially use all its political, legal and international capacities to pursue the perpetrators of this horrible crime and will never forget the right of the great nation of Iran to avenge the international criminals.
