Hamidreza Saremi, Deputy of Urban Planning and Architecture of Tehran Municipality, in this regard, stating that this plan should be presented in a transparent and clear manner, said: “We agree with the implementation of the plan because Azadi Square is one of the urban signs and urban signs are the city’s identity.” To be.

He added: “Studies in Azadi Square will not cause serious changes without immediate areas, and we know that the council’s decision is due to the cultural dominance of this region.”

Saremi emphasized: in the past, studies have been done and 80% have been advanced and a lot of expenses have been done in 302 hectares, and we have to see if the city council wants to implement the plan in this area or not?

He further reminded: In the past, the Deputy of Transportation and Traffic of Tehran Municipality and Mehrabad Airport rejected any relocation and announced that no changes are possible, and on the other hand, they also opposed passive defense and helicopter construction.

Saremi emphasized: the immediate area in this plan should be specified in exact length and we request that the full boundaries of the area be specified.

Finally, the plan to oblige the municipality of Tehran to conduct studies on the plan of organizing and cultural development of Azadi Square was approved by a majority of votes in favor in the Tehran City Council.
