Melissa Quartel, the interim spokeswoman for the US mission to the United Nations, said in a statement on Wednesday evening that the Greenfield corona test was positive on Wednesday, but her test yesterday was negative.
Quartel said Greenfield had not met with US President Joe Biden recently and was not considered a close ally of the president.
“The US ambassador to the United Nations has been quarantined at home in accordance with the instructions of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,” he said.
A spokesman for the US embassy said Greenfield had been fully vaccinated against Corona and was receiving his third vaccine and was experiencing mild symptoms.
Greenfield is Biden’s latest senior official to suffer from coronary heart disease. Most members of Biden’s government have contracted the disease despite numerous vaccinations.
