A State Department spokesman criticized Israel’s decision to expand settlements in the West Bank.

State Department spokesman Ned Price expressed concern about Israel’s decision to expand settlements in the West Bank, Sputnik reported, quoting AFP.

“We are deeply concerned about Israel’s plan to advance the construction of thousands of housing units,” Price said, criticizing Israeli settlements.

Israeli sources recently reported on the country’s efforts to build new settlements in the West Bank.

Israeli sources say the country intends to build 1,355 new housing units in the West Bank.

A few days ago, a legal center announced that the construction of a town in the city of Hebron was being pursued by contractors and the Israeli army.

According to the report, the town is the first Israeli town in Hebron in the last 20 years.

According to the announcement, the town consists of 31 residential units and construction is underway at the old Al-Khalil bus station, which was previously leased by the Jordanian government.

Al-Khalil is the largest city in the West Bank. The development of Israeli settlements in the West Bank is taking place in the shadow of the international community.
