Why are Iranian animators attracted to foreign companies?
A member of the Iranian Motion Graphics Animation Association said: Although Iran’s animation industry has grown, but due to the lack of proper investment, many specialists in this industry have been attracted by foreign companies or have migrated.
Charso Press: Behdad Bagheri, who recently compiled and authored a book titled “Animation Labyrinth”, pointing out that the animation industry has wide branches and today, as in the past, the audience of animation is not only children, he said: Today, the animation industry is attractive for all age groups, but in The audience of an industry like game is still mostly young people. Of course, these two industries, while they are separate from each other, are not separate from each other because a series of specialties are common between both industries. Also, the game industry is a subcategory of the animation industry, and animation is a broad industry that includes animated films, animated series, games, special effects, advertising industry, etc.
He added: In the past, the audience of animation was children, but this format and style of animation, which was two-dimensional, improved over time, and three-dimensional animation was used, and the quality of works improved. After that, animation entered a new phase and the view that the audience of animation was children disappeared and all age groups became audiences of animation. It seems that one of the reasons why animation became an industry for all age groups was its potential capabilities to generate income.
Regarding the Persian dubbing of animations that are currently published in Iran, Bagheri said: When a version of an animation is made in a country with the original language, it is usually broadcast with the voice of the best dubbers and voice actors along with terms and words related to the same culture. Now, when the same animation enters Iran, considering that there are expert groups in this field, it is better to be dubbed into Farsi because it will be more attractive and understandable, especially for children and teenagers. In some of these dubbings, the accents of various ethnic groups are also used, which makes the animations more attractive and more visible.
He also stated about the current situation of animation in Iran: until a few years ago, animation was a deprived and abandoned industry, but since then, when animation grew more, this industry also has a market in Iran, however, Iran is still at the market level. The world of animation has not arrived and many investors are not willing to invest in this industry, that is why most of those who are currently working professionally in the animation and game industry in Iran work for foreign clients because the cost of buying a suitable system for this work in Currently, it is around 200 to 300 million, and if a project is going to go well, it is necessary to have around 30-50 people working with powerful equipment and systems, which apart from the salary of working professionals, naturally, few people are willing to make such an investment; Therefore, either most of the experts in this field immigrated or they work with foreign companies, while the scientific and professional level of the children who work in this field is very high, and most of those who work are working with prominent companies in the world.
