According to Mehr News Agency, Ali Hossein Raiatifard stated today on the sidelines of the 6-month performance exhibition of the Ministry of Labor: According to the calendar and plans, the last meeting of the Labor Council is on March 12, at which time workers’ wages will be determined. General issues have been raised, but the necessary agreement has not yet been reached between the working class and entrepreneurship communities.

The Deputy Minister of Labor Relations of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, referring to the determination of regional wages, said: “This requires infrastructure in the country, now research studies are underway and we must be able to provide minimums for all workers based on climate and geography.” So that the working community does not migrate.

Regarding trade unions, he said: “According to Chapter 6 of the Labor Law, three trade unions have been formed in the country.

Raitifard added: “According to the circular issued by the Minister, we are trying to implement the rights of the working community more carefully and emphasize the establishment of trade unions.” We have now started to form organizations from the enterprises and subdivisions of this ministry, and the organizations must be formed within a quarter of a month.

The Deputy Minister of Labor Relations of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, stating that there are one million small and large workshops in the country, said: “We now have 13,000 labor organizations, which is less than the number of workers.” In the six months of the government, the number of organizations has grown by 12% compared to the same period last year.

Referring to the labor monitoring system, Fariatifard added: In this system, Articles 40, 2, 27 and Chapter 6 of the Labor Law are emphasized. Protecting the workforce and consolidating jobs is on the agenda.

The Deputy Minister of Labor Relations of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare continued: “This system can help all employers to have self-assessment and ask various questions on the issues of removing production barriers, and inspectors will be sent to follow up on problems by this ministry.” At the same time, an integrated system of information on the situation of workers and the removal of barriers to production is created.

“Unemployment insurance coverage has dropped by 33 percent,” he said, noting that 10,000 million workers now have insurance.
