Do not be unaware of the neighbor’s condition! / The importance and virtue of good neighborliness in the hadiths of the Imams

Life group; زینب نادعلی:Our human nature is based on collective and social life, and no matter how hard we try to cut ourselves off from the world around us, because it is against our nature, it is not possible. In the social life of the neighbor is one of the important elements because he is the closest person to us after the neighbor’s family, but in today’s lives the neighbor has lost his position and the purity and intimacy that was in the past between neighbors has been lost and stubborn. And stubbornness has replaced it. In Islam, neighborliness and good treatment of neighbors are so commanded that Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) has considered it as one of the characteristics of religiosity. The Imams (as) also have many hadiths related to this issue and the virtue and importance of neighborhood, which we will read below.

Good neighborliness and measuring faith

Perhaps after reading these hadiths, we should reconsider the treatment of our neighbors, because the Imams have considered the treatment of neighbors as one of the characteristics of measuring faith. The Prophet of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said:
Al-Amali for Sadiq: p. 201

Also, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) says in another hadeeth: Anyone who believes in God and the Last Day should not hurt his neighbor.
Al-Kafi: vol. 2, p. 667, p. 6

According to the narrations, a man from the Ansar came to the service of the Prophet of God and said: I have bought a house from a certain tribe and my closest neighbor is the one I do not hope for good and I am not safe from his evil. So, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) ordered Ali, Salman, and Abu Dharr – and another one whom I have forgotten and I think is Muqaddad, to announce in a loud voice in the mosque: Whoever his neighbor is not safe from him, He has no faith and they announced this message three times.
(Shiite means: 8/487/1)

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) gave a package to Hazrat Fatima (PBUH) in which they said: O my daughter, learn what is written in this scripture, whoever believes in God and the Day of Resurrection will not harm his neighbor, whoever believes in God and On the Day of Judgment, he believes in respecting the guest. Everyone who believes in God and the Day of Judgment must say goodbye or remain silent.

Imam Ali (AS) in his will to his children Imam Hassan (AS) and Imam Hussein (AS) said: May you not forget about your neighbors, because the Messenger of God (PBUH) always commanded about them, as we thought That the neighbor inherits from the neighbor.

Good neighbor from a good house!

The Imams (as) have recommended in several hadiths that the neighbors and their behavior in buying a house is much more important than the location and other features of the house, as Imam Ali (as) says: Before buying a house, see who the neighbors are.

Imam (as) in the hadith narrated pot so that “people who Ja’ statesman Prophet PBUH and prophet Fqal: O Messenger of Allah, Annie Rdt Purchase of owning this Griffon Tamrny Phi Phi Mzynh Jhynh Umm Umm Umm Phi Phi Sqyf Quraysh? The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: The neighbor is then the circle, and the companion is the journey.

A man who served the Prophet of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, came and said: I want to buy a house, where do you order me to buy it? In the midst of Jahinah or Mazinah or Saqif or Quraysh? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to him: First the neighbor, then the house, first the companion, then the journey.
(Al-Jaafariat: 164)

Good neighborliness and increase life

Good neighborliness, like reconciliation, is one of the things that prolongs life. Imam Sadiq (as) says: “The good neighbor lives in the city, and Yazid builds in the building.” Good neighborliness builds houses and increases lives. Al-Kafi: vol. 2, p. 667, p. 8.

And the right of the neighbor …

Apostle and prophet PBUH said: “Fi Aljar rights: it Astghask Ghsth bath tub Aftqr’m addicted Astqrzk Qrzth against Van Van Sabh not Zyth Sabth disaster Hnth disease it Vela Jnazth Dth van matte Atbt Tsttl against Balbna’ Fthjb proof except Baznh Anah. .. »
Your neighbor’s right is that if he asks you for help, you should help him, if he asks you to lend, you should lend to him, if he is in need, you should meet his need, if he sees a calamity, you should comfort him, if good comes to him, congratulate him. If he falls ill, visit him. When a man attends his funeral, do not build your house higher than his house to block the flow of air on him unless he allows it.
“The House of Fu’ad, p. 105”

Do not be unaware of the neighbor!

Imam Sadiq (as), quoting his fathers, said: Imam Ali (as) heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say to his companions: Allah says: From the grace of your food, and from the grace of your food, and from your food, and from your creation, and from your food, turn away from the wrath of God.

One who sleeps at night and his neighbor is hungry does not believe in God and the Day of Judgment. We said: O Messenger of God! We [که با این سخن] We were destroyed. The Prophet said: You suppress the wrath of God with extra food and with the surplus of your dates and your money and your old and worn clothes.
(Sea of Lights: 11/19/77)

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) says in another hadeeth:

Whoever withholds a good from his neighbor, God, on the Day of Resurrection, withholds his good from him and leaves him to himself, and what a bad situation is the one whom God leaves to himself.
(Al-Amali for Sadiq: 515/707)

Neighborhood etiquette in the words of Imam Sajjad

Now that we understand the virtue and importance of neighborliness, the question may arise as to what are the characteristics of good neighborliness and how can we reap the rewards of this recommended action or not inadvertently commit a behavior that has provoked the wrath of God? Be.

Imam Sajjad (PBUH) hadith that describes and states: “The right Jarek Fhfzh Ghayba and Kramh Shahda Vnsrth inasmuch Kahn Mzlvma Vela research crushed genitals Frames mark against abuse Strth against Van mark them Yqbl Nsyhtk Nshth solicitorship binak Vbynh Vela Tslmh bed fabric وَتُقيلُ عَثَرَتَهُ وَتَغَفِرُ ذَنبَهُ وَتُعاشِرُهُ مُعاشَرَةً کَرمَةً »
But your neighbor’s right is to protect his reputation in his absence and to respect him in his presence. If he is wronged, help him, do not look for his faults, if you see evil, cover him, if you know that he accepts your advice, advise him in secret, do not leave him in hardships, forgive his slip, forgive his sin and be with him. Associate well and generously. “Khasal, p. 569”

Imam al-Kadhim (as) looks at this issue from another angle and says:
Good neighborliness is not just about not harassing, but good neighborliness is about being patient with your neighbor.

The virtues of good neighborliness

The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him and his family) says in this regard:
If you want God and your Prophet to love you, reject them when they have entrusted you with it, and when you speak, be truthful and treat your neighbors kindly.Nahj al-Fasaha, H. 554

Imam Sadegh (as) also considered good neighborliness as an increase in sustenance: “The good neighbor of Yazid is in sustenance.” Good neighborliness increases sustenance.(Al-Kafi: 2/667/8)

Imam Sadegh (AS) says in another hadith:
Good neighborliness builds houses and increases lives.(Gift of minds: 85)

Imam Ali (pbuh) says the following about the importance and virtue of neighborliness: “We emphasize the sanctuary like the companion and the neighbor.” No sanctity such as the sanctity of companionship and neighborliness has been emphasized.
(Al-Amali for Sadiq: 441/586)

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also said: A neighbor’s respect for man is like a mother’s respect.(Makarem Al-Akhlaq: 1/274/834)
