Sardar Rahimi added: 96 major smugglers and 1,735 retailers and drug addicts were identified and arrested; Also, 23 drug thugs were identified and 33 vehicles belonging to smugglers were confiscated.

“Dozens of devices for buying and selling and using drugs and 5 weapons have also been seized,” he said.

Expressing concern over the increase in the import of synthetic drugs, he said: “Two gangs that were selling drugs in cyberspace were also identified and arrested.”

Sardar Rahimi, pointing out that there are between 6,000 and 8,000 addicts who have no place to keep them, addressed the 4,000 addicts who are not accepted for reasons such as old age, infectious diseases, etc., and said: “On the other hand, there are Methadone treatment centers in Shush and Harandi and the daily visits of addicts to them have caused harassment to the people living in these areas, which the authorities should think about.
