The increasing trend of emicron in the country / The symptoms of emicron are similar to the common cold

According to Fars News Agency’s health correspondent, Saeed Karimi, Deputy Minister of Health in our Tehran program, Radio Tehran Salamat, referring to the full readiness of hospitals in the event of the sixth peak to deal with Omicron, said: Necessary arrangements have been made and we do not have any particular problem. Of course, in the event of a possible peak, its severity is so important that it is unpredictable.

Pointing out that the predominant strain in our country is still delta, he said: “The omicron strain has been observed in the country since last week, we have a number of patients, but the predominant strain in Iran is still the delta strain.”

“Fortunately, we do not have a shortage of vaccines,” said the deputy health minister. Congestion may be seen in some places, but this congestion is occasional. The vaccine portfolio in our country is diverse and in general we do not have a problem with strategic reserves.

In response to whether the omicron strain escapes the kits? He said: “First, the corona should be diagnosed by PCR test, and if a person has a positive corona, he should be tested with a special kit for the Omicron strain.”

The official at the Ministry of Health called the trend of Omicron infection in the country increasing and said: “Certainly, the number of patients is higher than the official statistics.” Because the symptoms of this strain are similar to the common cold, patients may not see a doctor and sometimes may not be diagnosed with Omicron. That is why unofficial statistics are higher than official statistics.

“The flu is widespread in the country,” Karimi said. For this reason, not all patients with respiratory symptoms have coronary artery disease, and if they do, they are not necessarily infected with omicron.

“The symptoms of the common cold, the corona and the flu are very similar, but there is no need to have a coronary test at the onset of symptoms,” he said. At the physician’s discretion, a standard PCR test is given first, followed by a special omicron test.

Regarding the Delmicron strain, the Deputy Minister of Health said: “There is still no definite theory about Delmicron.” After the review of the scientific committee, the results will be announced.

“These two drugs are not in the treatment protocol of the country,” he said about the license to use Paxlovid and Molnopiravir drugs. The scientific committee should check whether these drugs are effective or not. Because these drugs are oral, people should not rush to them for advertising. However, these drugs are used only for patients who are in the early stages of the disease and their disease may become severe and not all patients can use them.

Regarding the increase in coronary restrictions, the Deputy Minister of Health said: “The approval of these restrictions is the responsibility of the National Corona headquarters. We also do not have an increase in restrictions, only health instructions must be observed.” Meetings of the Corona National Headquarters are held every week and a new decision will be announced if a new decision is made.

“In the event of a possible peak, its severity is very important and unpredictable,” he said.

Referring to the possible occurrence of the next corona peak in the country, the Deputy Minister of Health said: “The necessary measures have been considered and we do not have any particular problem.” Of course, in the event of a possible peak, its severity is so important that it is unpredictable.
