Insurance coverage and welfare of the working community is a priority of the Ministry of People – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news
According to the Mehr news agency, Hojjatullah Abdolmaleki said at the closing ceremony of the 33rd Festival of Appreciation of Workers, Working Groups and Exemplary Units: “Workers have a very important role in the grand strategy of the leap in production and the development of the country’s economy.”
Referring to the high value of work in Islam, he added: “The dynamism of the working community as the assets of the Islamic system is of great importance.”
The Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare said: “The working community, by offering more than 14,000 martyrs, in addition to supporting the formation of the Islamic Revolution, took the path of its survival and continuation.”
Emphasizing that the backbone of the country’s economy is the workers, Abdolmaleki said: “In the years when the enemy has hit the economy and production of the country, this valuable group with all the difficulties helped to continue the path of excellence of Islamic Iran.”
Referring to the insured population of 15 million workers, he said: “Workers ‘welfare and social security is one of the most important issues being undertaken by the Ministry of People, and we are working with labor and employers’ organizations to address the challenges in this area.”
The Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare added: “In order to implement the macro social security policies announced by the Supreme Leader, we are trying to cover the population of uninsured workers.”
Abdul Maleki, stating that written programs are also on the agenda to strengthen the cultural and sports field of the workers, said: “Dynamism and vitality among the workers will help the prosperity of production.”
He added: “With the support of the Islamic Consultative Assembly and in case of amending some legal materials, we can cover all construction workers with our insurance and welfare services.”
Referring to the 38% decrease in force reductions in the first month of this year compared to the same period last year, the Minister of Labor said: “Jihadi approaches and prudent leadership of the people’s government have been promising for different segments of the people.”
